My New Fall Shade: CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Euphoria

Fall lipstick for pale people
This past weekend, while on a ShopRite run in the charming and very surburban suburb of Marlboro, New Jersey, I decided to take an ever-so-slight detour down the (surprisingly well-stocked) beauty aisle and pick up a little treat for moi: CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Euphoria. I have been meaning to get in on this deep wine/cranberry trend for awhile now, but since I am also ghastly pale, it has been tricky, to say the least. I knew I needed something more pink/berry than burgundy/brown, and something not incredibly dark and scary. But after trying a number of shades and brands on in Sephora with C last weekend– and almost having a panic attack from the crowds– I decided going the drugstore route might make more sense on a risky shade.
Euphoria in all her glory.

Glamour recommended CoverGirl’s Lip Perfection in Euphoria in its September issue, and for $7, I figured, why not? C and I both wore the line’s fuschia shade, Spellbound, all spring and summer and I always loved how smooth it glided on and managed to not dry out– kind of more like a balm than a lipstick, but with full color. So as soon as I saw the lipstick in ShopRite, I grabbed it. And I’m so glad I did. Euphoria is a deep berry that’s flattering, pink enough to not make my complexion look eerie, and it lasts: even after a couple hours of eating hot dogs, a deep raspberry stain remained. Not bad for $7. But the best part just may be that the second I put it on, I felt like fall was here (though it was also disgustingly hot). And really, what more can you ask for from a lipstick?
