Meet Your New Foundation: L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Smooth Absolute

Mama likey: younger smoother-looking skin

I consider myself a pretty loyal person. Loyalty runs deep in my culture, as Brooklyn 11223 suggests. I never turn my back on classics: Maybelline Great Lash, Hello Flawless!, Prestige kohl and liquid eyeliner, just to name a few. But every once in a while a girl must try something new. Sure, I may have stopped in Rite Aid to take advantage of the discounted Easter candy, but I left with what I predict will be a new favorite.

My love affair with foundation has not been a secret. I do wear and tell, proudly. My skin is on the sensitive side for a twenty-something (though, I see signs of improvement!). When I found Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup and later J introduced me to Skin Clearing Oil-Free Liquid Makeup, I felt confident that not only would these products help even out my skin tone, but would not cause an acne party on my face.

I’m always on the lookout for new foundations – liquid, powder, cream – anything I can get my hands on. After reading numerous positive reviews, I mustered up the courage to try L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift Smooth Absolute Foundation and hoped for results comparable to Neutrogena. This product comes with a brush tip applicator. I’m not usually a fan of such gimmicks. L’Oreal’s True Match Roller Foundation was a huge flop in my opinion with the plaint roller-esque applicator that left my skin streaky and irritated. But the collagen-laced L’Oreal Visible Lift foundation which promised plumper smoother skin was the key selling point for me. L’Oreal made good on its claim. I chose the shade creamy natural for my light/medium skin tone. The liquid goes on smoothly and pores and lines pretty much get erased or filled in. Bottom line, you need a microscope to see the imperfections. I don’t know how it does it, but it does. My skin looked dewy without that oily greasy effect. You can easily smooth out the foundation on your skin using the brush without it looking streaky. Though, I prefer doing a once over on my face with a tissue after applying just to smooth out the color and remove the excess. The real test will be in about a week if I have any breakouts. But for now I’m loving the smoothness and airbrushed look of my skin. Go get.
