DJ Tanner: The Results Show

The review is in, as promised. Two weeks ago you may recall I purchased a tanner in hopes of emulating the bronze and fabulous first ladies of the Real Housewives of NJ. My goal was to get at least two shades darker without looking orange or streaky. Well, part of the mission was accomplished. I do not look orange or streaky. There was no visible change in color. At all.

Maybe next time I’ll avoid products that promise “natural” anything. I’m not a big fan of the natural look. It seems pointless to take the time to apply products so you can look as if you’re not wearing makeup. And don’t get me started on the natural organic food craze. Another time, another blog.

I stopped using the facial moisturizer after two days because it was greasy and immediately made me break out. I had hopes for you, body moisturizer. I used it every other day for two weeks and nada. I will say the texture of it is nice to use as a regular moisturizer. But temper your enthusiasm, you won’t look like you spent the day at the beach. You’ll most likely still look like you spent 9+ hours in an office building void of sunlight. Readers, if you have any self-tanning recommendations please let us know!

  1. Ha! I think the regular natural glow doesn't do much either. I do, though, have to say that the Express is AWESOME. Give it try. Not streaky, unless your legs rub together before it dries and then it looks like you had something run down the inside of your thighs. So, uhhh… apply and then do the warrior pose for twenty minutes.

  2. Being a pale ginger I'm always on the lookout for fake tanners. My new obsession: Ulta spray tan from Ulta beauty stores or can be bought online on their website. AMAZING results. Looks completely natural, easy spray application, the smell is not that offensive (I'll even spray before work or going out)and it's only 10 dollars. Sometimes they even have buy 1 get 1 free deals. People keep asking me if I went of vacation.
