The other night, after surviving long days at our (for now) respective offices, C and I checked out the new Make Up For Ever store within the Sephora on Broadway in Soho. It was warm out and, being October, this made us sad. So, there we were, sad and tired, but expectations high. And let me just say, expectations were met, Sephora and Make Up For Ever really went all out. A surprisingly spacious section off to the left side of the store was transformed into CandyLand: huge, easy-to-navigate displays of the products, professionals on hand to offer advice, and bulb-lined, backstage-esque mirrors where mini-makeovers and classes take place. I wanted to move in. I’ve always heard great things about Make Up For Ever, especially their primers and foundations (the instructor at C’s Dex makeup seminar last weekend recommended the line as well– more on that to come).
Needless to say, we didn’t leave empty handed. C picked up the HD Invisible Coverage Foundation and I got the Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation, which I haven’t tried yet myself, but when it was applied in store, it looked like a dream. After playing with the wear-everywhere Aqua Creams until my hands looked striped(weeee colorsss), we dragged ourselves away, vowing to come back for one of the mini-classes they offer with the purchase of a set amount of products (which surely can’t be hard). So get yourself down to Broadway and Spring. Ooh and look for the Katy Perry-ish girl (we didn’s ask her name, sorry) with the blue eyes and sparkly eye makeup, she seriously knew her stuff. Give her a raise, Sephora!
