Crème de la Crop?

Worth the price tag? LET US SEE.
Freshly back from a weekend in AC and about to leave for a week in Zurich and Munich, my skin is definitely not at its best. The sun certainly didn’t do it any favors- as sunblock (even when its good) makes me breakout- and the plane air I’m about to deal with will surely make it dry. Yayyy. And let’s not even get started on the random hotel towels and foreign water it’ll soon be dealing with.

So what’s my plan of attack? Since I can’t bring my full size moisturizer on the plane, I’m going to take a sample size of La Mer’s Moisturizing Gel Cream that my mom got as a freebie when she bought a full size of the brand’s ultra-famous Crème de la Mer moisturizer. I also took the tiny jar with me to Disney, but ended up using only a bit since I was also using gobs of sunscreen, likely negating any lasting effects of the lightweight moisturizer. So this will be my first real test drive of La Mer which, as you probably know, people go insane over. Oh and since it’s also expensive (about $100 for an ounce), there’s really little to no chance I’ll be buying a jar even if I love it. But it’s still worth a shot for the sake of journalism. You’re welcome. Undoubtedly, I will still come back with not-so-great skin, but having done the whole Europe for a week mish mosh before, I should be able to tell if my skin is the same, worse, or better than it usually is, and whether this famed La Mer really lives up the hype. Here goes nothing. Expect a full report- along with beauty trends abroad (ooh and maybe even fun new products)- when I get back!
