Beauty and the Web

So I stumbled across the L’Oreal Facebook page today, and I have to say I’m impressed- there’s helpful how-to videos, free sample offers, consumer reviews, and coupons. But what delighted me (and C, who I immediately sent the link to) most was the Beauty Matchmaker. Basically, this incredible little tool lets you select the brand and shade of foundation you wear now, and then comes up with the compatible L’Oreal match. Granted, they are missing a few key brands and lines (for example, they were missing Maybelline and while they did have Dior, my DiorSkin Forever powder foundation was not an option), but there’s most likely at least one product or brand on there that you’ve used before and can plug in.

With my Neutrogena Healthy Skin Makeup in Natural Ivory, I was matched with L’Oreal’s True Match Super Blendable Makeup in Classic Ivory-N2. And seriously? I’ll probably go grab a bottle soon. Despite C not being so-in-love with their TrueMatch Roller, this classic liquid version is one product I always see recommended in mags. And I’ve always been overwhelmed by all the color options (and they do the whole warm/cool/neutral thing on top of everything), but now I know my shade. Kind of awesome.

Go try it! And while you’re at it, there’s also a sweet personalized beauty consultation here.
